Definition of “Mainstreaming”

“Mainstreaming” means making a topic a normal and natural part of everyday life, i.e. integrating it into the mainstream of processes and social attention. Gender Mainstreaming is thus intended to make gender equality between women and men into a cross-sectional topic in all areas and at all levels.
