Research and teaching

Gender is a topic and field of enquiry for research in many different disciplines worldwide. Attention to gender frequently makes trans-disciplinary cooperation necessary. The GenderCompetenceCenter, as an institution within the Centre for Transdisciplinary Gender Studies (ZtG), is part of these research endeavours.  If you are working on a research project or a topic that could be of interest for us in our work, please get in touch with us at mail@genderkompetenz.info.

The GenderCompetenceCenter is taking part in the scholarly debate on the strategy of Gender Mainstreaming. It reflects on and publishes for scholars – adhering strictly to the requirements of data protection and the principle of anonymising – specific experiences with the implementation of GM. The academic team teaches on the Gender Studies programme at the HU in Berlin and prepares students for practical experience in the field of Gender Mainstreaming.
You can find details of courses in the Gender Studies programme under http://www.gender.hu-berlin.de/eng/studyingteaching/courses/.
The Centre for Transdisciplinary Gender Studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin also offers an overview of courses and institutions in Women’s and Gender Studies at other German-speaking universities:
